The Whitewater Paddlers division of the Raft Race offers the chance for expert paddlers and experienced rafters to test their squishy boat skills. Teams of three or four compete in a head-to-head format down the class III and IV rapids of the Competition Channel. The fastest teams will advance until a winner is crowned. Guides will not be provided in this category. For all whitewater races, participants must have prior experience on similar whitewater in the same discipline. Competitors must bring their own whitewater specific PFD and helmet. Paddles and rafts will be provided.

Thursday, April 25 – 6:00pm

Race will start on the Competition Channel. Register for any rafting competition here.

The Guided division of the Raft Race is for those looking to appease their competitive spirit but don’t have whitewater rafting experience. Like the Whitewater Paddlers division, teams of three or four will face off head-to-head down the Competition Channel. The fastest boats will advance until a winner is crowned. Guides will be provided in this category, no prior rafting experience necessary. Paddles, PFD’s, helmets and rafts will be provided.

For participants looking to get a taste of whitewater from the guide seat, join the Intro to Raft Guiding clinic on Thursday at 4:00pm. This clinic will review skills such as guide positioning, basic strokes, and ferrying, complete with each participant guiding a lap down the Class III Wilderness Channel.
